    Review: N*E*R*D - Seeing Sounds

    June 13th, 2008

    OVERALL RATING:

The music industry does not care how or what you do to make your records. They simply want it to fit their format; anything that is outside of that format is looked upon as risky or dangerous. Since their inception, Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley have set out to destroy these boundaries of Hip-Hop and music alike. Seeing Sounds is their latest venture in sound, and this time around they are also attempting to capture our other senses as well.

    Busta Rhymes - “Blessed” Write-Up

    May 9th, 2008

As most of you know our site is currently moving at warp speed and Mike, KINGGS, .45, Paralex, and myself are all very grateful for the success. Although I must admit that a high point in my career was a few nights ago when I got the esteemed pleasure of listening to Busta Rhymes latest studio album “Blessed”. The energy throughout the event was positively amazing. One thing that I must stress throughout all journalism is integrity. Busta is an amazing artist but more than that an amazing person. The evening started off with several of my esteemed colleagues chatting about each others ventures before Busta actually entered into the room. From there, Busta took the liberty of thanking us for coming, then the evening got off to the races. With each song there was a story behind it, telling inspirational montages of how this album is rightfully titled “Blessed”. Break down of the songs after the jump.

    OVERALL RATING:

Lupe Fiasco brings forth his most recent studio album: Lupe Fiasco’s “The Cool” where we venture through one of hip-hop’s newest “superstar’s” only to find that his meaning of cool may be a bit different then the next man’s definition. With this album we see an expansion of a song on his first album also titled “The Cool” except on this one there is a deeper Lu.

    Review: UGK - Underground Kingz

    August 15th, 2007

    Words By: A-One of KnowGoodMusic.

I might be repeating myself but so what. I think a lot of people talking like they were always big UGK fans are frontin. I’m from the land where Suave House, Rap-A-Lot, & the non-east coast Jive artists reigned supreme & I don’t remember UGK getting so much props until they popped up on that Jay-Z song. As I type this I do remember conversations with Wendy Day where she was telling me they had contract issues & those issues went on for a long time (basically they refused to record & the label refused to allow them to appear on other peoples albums) so maybe that has something to do with the surge in people screaming their names but I still say most of you are frontin. And to be real, that kinda made me discredit them a lil bit. Read the rest of this entry »
