Drake Signs With Young Money

Well, the wait is over: After weeks of speculation, Drake has chosen to go with the home team and sign with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records, according to a source close to the situation. The deal breaks down as a joint venture between Young Money and Cash Money, with Universal Republic distributing. Drake’s management was adamant that he should be viewed as an independent artist, although Universal will distribute the project.

And there you have it.
I actually wasn’t really expecting this, seemed to easy. It looks like Young Money is just a name affiliation, where as Universal will be physically distributing the records. I guess it is sort of “independent.”
Guess we’ll see the turnout, Drake will do well regardless.

I wasn’t expecting this at all. I really thought homey would have signed with RocNation or something.

Especially after last night’s fiasco, I was hoping that he disassociated himself with the coonery that comes with Lil Wayne and the artists of Young Money.

It’s all good though. At least he has major distribution through Universal. I think his album will do incredibly well.
