Before we start, I’d like to make this statement: This interview is in fact, and all statements herein are statements of the Sa-Ra and by no means is this an interview of Om’Mas Keith. You’re actually interviewing with a representative of Sa-Ra. All statements and questions are to be addressed to Sa-Ra and will be answered as such. Just want you to know that because, and I say this to everybody, Sa-Ra is bigger than any of us as individuals. As such if one of us can’t make it to an interview it’s still Sa-Ra and one thing we want people to know is that Sa-Ra could be five bitches on stage in Las Vegas. Sa-Ra doesn’t have anything to do with faces, its a movement, its a lifestyle and to that extent Sa-Ra could be anybody. So just so you know these statements and anything that your going to hear is going to be from Sa-Ra.

On “Scion A/V Remix: Grand Puba,” South Yorkshire’s new bad boy, Toddla T, and dubstep authority, Caspa, infuse their booty-shaking beats into the track. The UK’s young Reso delivers his own twisted take with rich musical texture and color, while Scion House Party headliner and LA-native, 12th Planet delivers West Coast dub rhythms.
Next Wednesday, Miz Metro will be releasing her new album Unlimited at SOB’s in New York.

Today, Naledge, from Kidz in The Hall, dropped his solo effort, Chicago Picasso, via Duck Down Records. To bring in the new project, he gave OKP the world premiere for this video, “Focus” (Rhymefest is on the album version). The video was directed by Noah Banks over the course of two weeks and was made from 3,000 still images and zero video footage. Watch Naledge get his stop-motion on while making his way through the streets of the Chi. Make sure to pick up Naledge’s “mix CD,” Chicago Picasso, via iTunes or Amazon.

So we’re finally ready to drop the video for Inverse’s “So Far.” The song is from our 2008 release So Far (The Collection), which will be re-released through QN5 Music next Tuesday, July 6th. The video was directed by Donlee Brussel and the song was produced by my good friend Oren Yoel, who also helmed most of Asher Roth’s album. The video and song also feature hip hop violinist Paul Dateh. We shot the clip guerilla-style in two days last winter, traveling all over LA (Malibu, Hollywood, the Metro, Santa Monica, etc.)
I said it before and I’ll say it again: this song would’ve been way doper without Kanye. And that’s coming from a huge Kanye fan. Straight No Chaser drops this August.
