In The NFL: Week 12

Good Morning folks, it’s week 12 in the NFL and illRoots is here in the fourth quarter to give you all our analysis of where the season has been, where it’s at, & where everything falls into place. Due to the randomness of this coverage, I’ll try to catch you up on the projected playoff teams this Wednesday. For now, after the jump, this post will feature our picks for Week 12.
Eagles (5-4-1) at Baltimore (6-4): Donovan McNabb is coming off one of his worst outings of his career, & the Tie confusion is just another sign of where the Eagles are right now, I see Flacco leading the Ravens to a relatively quiet but not-so-tough victory this week.
Patriots (6-4) at Miami (6-4): Earlier in the season we saw the Dolphins pull the Wildcat offense out of their pocket in a then surprising victory against the Pats; this time around I think we’ll see Miami play no frills, in their own backyard.
Panthers (8-2) at Atlanta (6-4): This could be the true game of the week, when it’s all said and done. The Falcons defense is going to be tested all game long, against one of the more dangerous dual back running games. Jake Delhomme is coming off of two poor performances and will be looking to reassert himself as Carolina’s franchise QB. Even with those intangibles, Atlanta will come into this game a lot more hungry for a win.
Giants (9-1) at Arizona (7-3): ESPN is toting this as Game of the week, but there just isn’t enough at stake for either team for this to be considered anything more than a good shootout in the making. The G-Men are looking unstoppable right now, & I don’t think the Cards are going to be able to be the team to give them their second lose.
GOTW: Jets (7-3) at Tennessee (10-0): Even though neither of these teams desperately need a win here, the storyline is too hard to pass up for Game of the Week. The Titans should come in here slow, just like they have in the past few weeks. By halftime, Tennesee could be down by as much as 14 points, but the way Jeff Fisher has been able to adjust the game plan at any point in the game is probably one of the reasons they are undefeated, & it will be the reason they are staying undefeated this week.
Upset: 49ers (3-7) at Dallas (6-4): You are not going blind right now. I might be a little off my rocker for even suggesting that the 49ers team that could barely win a game just weeks ago, could win a game against “America’s team” on the road, but you’ll be calling me a genius if it goes down.
Rest of Sunday’s Picks:
Texans (3-7) at Cleveland (4-6)
Buccaneers (7-3) at Detroit (0-10)
Bills (5-5) at Kansas City (1-9)
Bears (5-5) at St. Louis (2-8)
Vikings (5-5) at Jacksonville (4-6)
Raiders (2-8) at Denver (6-4)
Redskins (6-4) at Seattle (2-8)
Colts (6-4) at San Diego (4-6)
Packers (5-5) at New Orleans (5-5)
Ultimately, the playoff picture will not unfold until about week 15, so all you fans with teams that have 4 or 5 losses shouldn’t be panicking yet. After it’s all said and done, this week will probably be one of the least memorable of the season. Feel free to chime in and provide the illRoots community with your picks or your thoughts on this new addition to illRoots weekly routine.

Chargers have had a lot of success in the past, but I think their defense will not be able to stop Peyton this time around. It won’t be a blow out or anything, but I’d be surprised if the Chargers won.

it’s possible.
As it stands, some of my picks are a bit off. Oh well, can’t be perfect.

yo team team def, that was pretty prophetic , by 3 48 , when your post was made, the jets had already had a very comfortable lead late in the 2nd half. so i will mock your words

Joe Flacco and my Ravens made the Eagles look real bad this week. Yet I will consider that they put Kolb in for a bit, but after that Giants stomping last week I’m glad to see my guy bounce back with over 150 passing and such.

“so much for that 49ers upset huh..go cowboys!”
