Viva La Hova

[Download Link & Tracklist Inside]
If Jay-Z and Coldplay did an album together, it would sound a little something like this.
Mick Boogie and Terry Urban have teamed up with the likes of 9th Wonder, The Kickdrums, Cookin’ Soul, 6th Sense, Hasan Insane and many more to create this soon-to-be historic mixtape that is already Jay-Z approved.
Viva La Hova is here folks.
EDIT: It destroyed our server. Our apologies to everyone, especially Mick and Terry. Frank151 came through with a back-up link, which is after the jump.

I love the mixtape but most of the songs miss the actual idea of the colab. What was meant to be Coldplay meets Jay-Z was more like Coldplay for Jay-Z. Collision Course had tracks on point b/c it was a true partnership some of one song and some of another. Most of the tracks here are Coldplay as beats for Jay-Z songs, capturing one artist’s genius and not the other

I totally agree with Goof. I wish they had more from Chris Martin, but what was done on this mixtape was thought out and put together with precision. Great work. Props to all the producers, illroots, n everyone that put this together. One

Wow blown away…totally blown away is all I can say. However I do kind of have to agree with the Goof wold have been nice if this mix was presented to show more of the genius of both artists. However I think its great and will introduce many heads to what coldplay is about…..The production is simply stunning though …I mean damn the way some of these tracks were reworked…having listened to both coldplay and Jay’s complete catalogue..wow

Classic !! Wow great download. Thanks Illroots for this classic.
So far I cant really decide favorite song from the list cause there is alot of gems.

Art in hiphop is lyrical
Art in rock is musical
So I’ll have to disagree with The Goof on this one.
Coldplay’s genius comes from their composition of music, not their lyrical ability. Little, if any rock music at all is acclaimed for its astounding lyricism.
But I will agree that it still feels like Jay-Z feat. Coldplay, and not Jay-Z & Coldplay.
Collision course was a true blending, I’m with you on that. Either way, this is good stuff.
All should give it a chance, all will enjoy if they did.

October 28th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
It’s dope. I was actually talking about how more hip hop artists should be getting with the coldplay instrumentals during the summer.
Hot shit, done well too.

i’m downloading this now. ahould be dope!!!
October 28th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
The self-advertising on their tracks is really getting on my nerves. Plus, as pointed out before, this album heavily favors Jay-Z to the point where it’s difficult to see how Coldplay fits into some of the tracks. The concept was great, but I’ll have to say that the execution could have been much better.
Oh, and what really ticked me off was both Beach Chair and Lost+ being in the album. The only change was, again, the self-advertising. Tasteless.

I am downloading this atm.

shoutout to KLive.

correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Dr. Dre do the drums for “Beach Chair”. I think there is a link to the source of this fact.
I can’t wait to here this, Mick Boogie and Terry Urban did a great job on Superman Returns.
