Does Asher Have It In Him?

Do you think Asher Roth will be able to put enough energy and emotion into a song, that it could ultimately go against someone’s career?

In my recent post, I proposed the question of whether or not Asher will be relevent now that Eminem is back in the game. This time I ask ya’ll if he has that “battle mentality” to go against Em, or any emcee for that matter.
We don’t know much about Asher Roth. He’s only been listening to hip-hop for a few years. The first album he bought was Crash by Dave Matthews Band. I’m sure since falling in love with the genre, he has begun to know a thing or two about hip-hop, but battling is a whole different ball park. How do you all feel about this?

I think he is nice, but he can’t go to where EM goes.

i think dude will be forgotten in a couple years , hes boring to me at least

  4. mark m Says:

Eminem and Asher should do a record together. I would like to see that happen

  5. Dexic Says:

I don’t think asher’s out to do that kind of stuff. I’m sure that if he had to, he could probably take somebody down a few pegs, but that’s not what he’s here to do.

  6. Markk Says:

um eminem is not what he used to be asher is an upcoming artist so he kinda has to want it more or his career will go nowhere

  7. Jaywall Says:

Asher and em arent even on the same level when it comes to rap about what they do rap about.

Ash is dope in his respective lane of rapping
And EM is dope in his.
They are two differently complete rappers/artist who styles are complete opposite.
Check Asher’s first single..I Love College

    Now check ems recent freestyle.

  8. Smyrk Says:

i D k it would be cool to see them do something together i mean Em brings the HOOD to the BURBS….and Asher brings the BURBS to the HOOD seeing as their both white beef is the last thing they need

    what do you think?
i don’t look at him and em in a way of comparison or even have in my mind that they should battle.
i don’t know what’s up with these questions on asher as if he has to prove himself to blog sites and i don’t know where they are coming from just because he is a white rapper.
let’s not get mccain on asher here… let the man do his thing.

He seems like a smart kid. He is talking about how he fucked around in college and smoked weed whatever with kind of an “asshole flow.” I kinda dig it but it will definatly get old fast. For now im hooked.

  12. jon.C Says:

asher might not be a competent battle rapper as of yet… but he sure as hell has the potential…

and these Em comparisons should only be about vocal similarities… their content is like night and day. they’re both white and sound SIMILAR. thats it.

  13. ELI DEE Says:

best he dun was throw some water on em’
    he aint nothin on em

    this aint up for disscusion
aint nobody put them in the same decanter

  14. Brent Says:

Not everybody’s a battle rapper. Whats your beef with asher?

  15. Mat Says:

Who cares if he can battle. Thats not what hes about. To compare him to EM is unfair. Then to say he wouldnt win a battle against EM is 1.obvious 2.meaningless and 3.downright dumb… hes a terrific lyricist judging from his one mixtape. Can have longevity with his type of music? that remains to be seen.

  16. modi Says:

lol people are getting hyped out here.

he’s just got one mixtape. he doesn’t have enough under his belt for anybody to really make an educated decision on that. that’s how i’m going.
