Ah… it cuts off at 4 minutes and some change…
Thanks! It’s always interesting to hear NaS speak… he’s actually making more sense than he usually does in interviews.

i like nas and he tries but…he doesnt really know whats hes talking about. He also only made his “socially conscious” album when it really started to be in vogue. If you actually want to hear progressive rap music, check out Son of Nun, Euphrates/The Narcicyst, Invincible, Abu Nurah, Akir, IT, Hasan Salaam, Brother Ali, Dead Prez, Mr. Lif, The Maysun Project, Oditty, One Be Lo or stuff by DJ eurok.
And why do you feature studio 43 a lot but show no love to the low budget collective? Get up on that Kenn Starr, Oddisee, and Kev Brown.

DUDE, PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP–NAS HAS 9 ALBUM AND ALL OF THEM IS CONSCIOUS RAP–JUST LOOK UP “ILLMATIC, IT WAS WRITTEN, (OH MY GOD), I AM ABLUM IS SICK, NASTRADAMUS, STILLMATIC, GODSON, STREETS DISCIPLES, HIP HOP IS DEAD, AND FINALLY THE NIGGER ALBUM. NAS IS ONE OF THE FIRST DUDES BESIDE RAHKIM WHO DOVE INTO THE SUPREME MATHEMATICS WHEN RHYMING, THE SELF CONSCIOUSNESS ALBUMS ON WAX. THAT IS WHY NAS HAS ALWAYS BEEN LABELED THE SECOND COMING OF RAHKIM, OR JESUS–STUPID NIGGAS ON HERE DON’T KNOW HIP HOP’S HISTORY! GO TO HIP HOP MECCA IN THE BRONX, KRS ONE’S “HIP HOP ALL OF FAME” AND READ UP ON RAP BLACK HISTORY. DAMN,,,

Nas is obviously one of the greatest rappers ever, but he FELL OFF, esp. with this new album. I never questioned any of his earlier material, I AM TALKING ABOUT UNTITLED. When referring to a socially conscious album, this means an album that is decidedly political by the artist, and promoted as such. If anyone needs to read up on Black history and the Black power movement, it is Nas himself.

Its obvious that you DON’T READ MUCH, because if you did, you’ll catch his illmatic rhyme structure on historical greats that is recorded in every Nas rapped track, he mentioned Revolutionaries. Nas even talked about the Illuminati, to F.O.I, if you even know what that is. Its just sad, that you don’t have any legitimate argument to base you ignorance on other then you don’t know yourself or your black history.

what are you talking about? This is about Nas and his newest album, which is garbage. Ad hominem attacks do no good if they don’t make sense. If you listen to nas speak you can tell his social conciousness is not at a high level, and given that he is comming with this in 2008 makes it worse. You can mention revolutionaries and secret societies all you want but it donesn’t mean you know anything if you dont delve into the issue in your material. These are subjects you can touch to seem “politically hip” and be accesible to the mainstream. If he starts making songs that deal with Assta, Mumia, the Move 9, Fred Hampton and the panthers, COINTEL PRO, Biko and the ANC, The colonization and causes of Rwanda and the Congo, Palestine, etc….then we can talk about nas being politically aware. Basically he sold out or w/e, choosing profits over the message.
