Please tell me what happened. I remember a few years back Clue was the go to mixtape DJ. Now he’s dropping mixtapes once in a blue moon with some of the least exclusive tracks around. If you fuck with hip hop heavily and have a computer, i’m sure you can find the tracks that Clue has on his in ‘07. He just dropped two new tapes in the past few days, It’s Me Snitches and Heavy Rotation Part Two. I’ll break down It’s Me Snitches now and the other one later. Let’s start shall we?

Yea, cause Clue doesn’t have a record label (desert storm) 4 hour time slot on Power 105.1, hosts and dj’s numerous amounts of parties, turned fab into one of raps heavyweights, became the first mixtape dj to EVER go platinum, first mixtape dj to be signed to an official label (rocafella). Do I need to start naming the COUNTLESS amounts of mixtapes this dude has put out? Drama, Big Mike, Cutmaster C, Envy, Tapemasters Inc, DJ Smallz…..fuck it every dj you listen to now has taken a page from DJ Clue’s How To Manual (not a real book jus making a point) So before we criticize anything this man puts out nowadays, let’s look at what he’s done for the mixtape game! If it weren’t for clue, the word EXLCUSIVE wouldn’t have the same meaning in the industry!

but lowkey, not ONCE did i mention that Clue hasnt had an impact. I said that he was the go to DJ a few years back. He held things down. Everyone knew and respected him… I’m just stating that his mixtape game is slacking heavily. IMHO, mixtape dj’s should put out good mixtapes. And what kinda read would a post stating “DJ Clue has done alot of good stuff a few years ago” be? Boring and uncalled for.

Nah I hear what both of ya’ll are saying. I think I took this a tad bit to serious (waves white flag….my fault fellas). Yea, his mixtape game is slacking somewhat, but honestly the mixtape game as a whole is slacking. Only consistant dj out right now is probably DJ Drama and you see what they’re trying to do to him. Getting records from online is something that’s going to plague this game for the rest of it’s history. But, if Clue put his best foot forward, he still be the exclusive king he once was. Good looks on the site homey!!

i hope that drama contiunes making good tapes, but we need more then him
big mike and clue are doing nothing good for the game.
luckily the blend tape game is still doing good. so are the individual artist tapes (see drought 3), but exclusives need a boost.

His street game is slacking and he just gets the commercial paper now, that’s all. Kay Slay called him out on Hot97 on this like a year ago. Turned into a vulgar heated argument, but Kay really got at him and made some good points.
