I am so amped that they added the new date. I was (so was Wacks) one of the many unlucky Hip-Hop heads who missed the boat the first time around. Anyway I just got this E-mail fresh from the good people at Guerilla Union, who put this beautiful event together…
WACKS EDIT:
WTF??!?!? I JUST SAW THAT RAKIM, MOS DEF, TALIB KWELI, AND DOOM HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE 29TH SHOW
HOLY SHIT.
My music is like hip hop circa 1971 in its rawest form.
Up and coming hip-hop producer Hasan Insane has already worked with the likings of Skyzoo and TapeMaster’s Inc. He dropped one of the dopest mixtapes of 2006, Perfect Strangers, which blended Nas and Jay-Z acapellas over his own original beats. His style is one of a kind, with precise kicks and snares laced perfectly over all instruments imaginable. I’ve known him for a few months, but finally was able to catch up with him and do an interview. Know the ledge on Hasan Insane.
(Just playin’. Australia is cool. I’d like to go their some day.)
So Snoop was due to co-host the Austrailia Video Awards this Sunday, but some jerk named Kevin Andrews, who is the immigration “minister” refused to let him stay in the country. Or is it a continent. Whatever.
“He doesn’t seem the sort of bloke we want in this country,” Andrews told Sydney’s Macquarie Radio. “This man has been a member of a Los Angeles gang, and is still associated with it apparently, that’s been involved in murder, robberies and drug dealing in the LA area.”
Snoop’s lawyer, Donald Etra, said he has not heard from Snoop since the incident. Snoop Dogg has 28 days to make a court appeal.
GFK will be headlining this year for the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. He will be among other acts, such as Big Daddy Kane, Lupe Fiasco, Consequence, Skillz, Tanya Morgan and Rhymefest. The festival is set to take place in June.
Thats right folks, Will Smith & DJ Jazzy Jeff are planning on reuniting by way of a tour, according to the very reliable [/sarcasm] folks over at Mediatakeout.
“We always talk about doing a Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince record and a huge tour, we just have to clear the time to do it, said Smith. “Right now, the plan is we are supposed to go out on tour together at the end of this year”
In related news DJ Jazzy Jeff is releasing the long awaited sequel to The Magnificent, The Return Of The Magnificent, on May 8th. Make Sure you all go out and cop that.
